Seeing the view, I feel so nostalgic. Three wooden electric poles still remain on my dog-walking way. Most wooden poles have been replaced with concrete ones in my town; maybe in most areas in Japan. When I walk on the road I feel as if I were in the 1960s.

All the poles back in North America are made of wood as far as I can remember. Here in Utsunomiya, the whole city would look so much better if they got rid of the poles and buried the mess of wires underground. Then they could plant a tree where each pole used to stand. A fine example of what things could look like is the beautiful street extending from City Hall to the Prefecture Office. ~Stacy
